About Jan–Peter
Jan-Peter Itze, born 1998 in Schweinfurt, received his first classical piano lessons at the Schweinfurt Music School with Konrad Lutz. Later with Albin Freibott and Monika Betzel. He was also taught classical guitar by Klaus-Meinert Lausten and jazz guitar by Benjamin Freibott.
At the Celtis-Gymnasium Schweinfurt he came into contact with jazz through piano lessons with Bernhard Pichl. The developed passion for jazz was intensified by lessons with Waldemar Oberst. Jan-Peter participated in the Celtis Big Band on piano and guitar.
From 2016 – 2022 he studied jazz piano with Tine Schneider and Bernhard Pichl, classical piano with Armin Fuchs and music theory with Almut Gatz at the University of Music Würzburg. He participated in numerous band workshops and attended masterclasses by Michael Wollny, Pablo Held, Rainer Böhm, Lage Lund, Seamus Blake, Julia Hülsmann and David Gazarov.
Jan-Peter is active as a musician in various formations and genres: He is part of the NICO THEO quintet, the electronic duo NEOCYCLED, the duo line-up DUOLOG, the quartet LEONIDA and can be heard solo on piano.
Further he has also composed and produced the music for numerous short films and video games. His music merges influences such as contemporary jazz, pop, film music, fusion and electronic music.
